Walter Kopacz, LCI 66, passed away in August, 2001. Walt was a co-founder of the LCI Association and itĖs first treasurer.  Walter was also the reason this Website came into being.

In June, 1998, I called Walter, as I wanted to create a Website for my dad and other LCI vets.  Thanks to WaltĖs encouragement and wealth of information, photographs and other materials, a very small, 5-page website was born. 

ItĖs grown a great deal since then.  For every old sailor who found a long-lost buddy, for every family member who discovered a fatherĖs story, and for every interested Web surfer who discovered and enjoys this site...it all started with Walter.
